FII Level 1
Level 1 is the start. A trained buddy is part of the course, not an extra.
This wiki is not a course. Water skills belong with a qualified instructor and a trained buddy.
FII says freediving is not about forcing depth. It is about moving well, knowing your limit, and diving with a trained buddy. Level 1 is for new divers and for water people who have never had formal freediving training.
The full course is about two days: classroom, confined water, and open water, up to 20 m or 66 ft. You should be 16 or older and comfortable swimming. A pool-only Level 1 exists. Open water is finished later.
You can read about freediving. You should not teach yourself the water skills. An instructor has to see you, and a trained buddy has to be with you.
